For many people the word 'church' conjures up the image of an historic building like ours. We are grateful to those who have gone before in leaving us with a wonderful piece of architectural beauty in which we can worship God like they did. However that's only part of the picture. Those who built the church did so out of a deep conviction that God whom they worshipped as Father, through His Son Jesus Christ in the power of the Holy Spirit was worth spending time and effort on by constructing such a vast place in which songs and hymns could be sung to Him, where prayer could be offered, where the Bible could be read and where bread and wine could be shared as Jesus had instructed. We continue in their footsteps as part of that living church - men and women, boys and girls who love Him and seek to serve Him and those amongst whom we live. Church is all about community where people learn in Christian love together. The building is important but it is only part of our story. Come and be part of this story too.
All Saints' Church Martock
Walk through the door of Martock church, and something might just touch your heart. Perhaps it will be during the week, in the deep silence of the ancient stones? Perhaps it will be in the daily offices, quietly, faithfully performed on the site for 800 years? Perhaps you will feel a touch of God’s presence in the traditional Sunday services, or the more lively family services. Or perhaps it will be in a simple conversation over a cup of coffee? The door is open, and you might just experience something your soul needs.
